Glutathione - The Most Important Antioxidant for Good Health

What is Glutathione?

Glutathione is an amino acid compound that is naturally present inside every cell throughout the body.  Glutathione acts as the master of all antioxidants, which will prevent and delay cell damage - as well as detoxify chemicals in the liver.  It is also crucial to immune health and regulation of cell growth and death.  Furthermore, Glutathione has the ability to bind itself to drugs to make them easier for the body to excrete.

Experts say levels of glutathione in the body decrease with age due to exposure to harmful chemicals, stress, and certain medications. It has been called "the most important molecule you need to stay healthy and prevent viruses, aging, cancer, heart disease, dementia and more, and necessary to treat everything from autism to Alzheimer's disease."

Benefits of Glutathione

Glutathione helps the body produce and recycle antioxidants, which is vital for maintaining cellular health.  It is critical for energy production and for proper functioning of the mitochondria, which are nicknamed the "powerhouses of the cell," because they generate the majority of cellular energy.  Check out some of the AMAZING benefits:

  • Helps fight infections and viruses
  • Helps detoxify the liver by binding to toxins
  • Helps control inflammation
  • Helps improve skin health and slows the aging process
  • Helps in the management of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease
  • Helps with chronic ear infections
  • Helps with autoimmune disease
  • Aids in the management of autism
  • Helps reduce the impact of uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes
  • Helps improve heart health
  • Helps treat Psoriasis
  • Helps prevent anemia in patients with chronic renal failure

Food Sources

Glutathione naturally occurs in some foods, including: onions and garlic, avocado, poultry and egg yolks, raw asparagus, and more.  However, it may not be well-absorbed from these dietary sources as cooking, storage and farming methods may reduce the amount of glutathione in foods.

Supplementing with Glutathione

In the past, it was thought impossible to supplement being the body breaks down proteins during digestion and oral glutathione would not likely be absorbed.  IV glutathione is an effective alternative, but is costly and inconvenient.  Fortunately, a liquid (liposomal) form of supplementation is available and we are so excited to be able to offer it to you!

Liposomal Glutathione is absorbed quickly and effectively starting in the mouth and allows for longer circulation in the body for efficient nutrient delivery.

There are no reported drug interactions with glutathione. It’s always best to talk with your doctor before adding a new supplement to your regimen.
