Back in 2009 I decided to go back to school and finish my degree while raising 3 kids in grade school. In 2013 I completed my degree with honors and PHI-Theta Kappa status.

In November of that same year, I went for my annual mammogram and 2 weeks before Christmas, got the dreaded news that NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR: YOU HAVE BREAST CANCER. I kept this awful news from my children as I did not want to ruin their Christmas. After the New Year, I told my family the dreaded news. In Jan 2014 I had my 1st surgery (a lumpectomy) and they did not get all the cancer and was faced with another surgery in Feb (a partial mastectomy). In April of 2014 I began 33 treatments of radiation going everyday (M-F) for almost 7 weeks. I was also treated with the Chemo Drug Tamoxifen. I took this drug for almost 5 years.

In June of 2017 I was introduced to Dr Steven Nickels of Science Base Wellness and discovered I had a bunch of toxins in my system that were in desperate need of fixing. After just one year of being treated by Dr Nickels I not only felt better, but was also able to get off the Tamoxifen Drug completely. My oncologist recommended I be on this drug for at least 10 years but was able to be cleared after only 5.
In Jan 2019 I was declared a 5 year cancer survivor and celebrated this accomplishment with my husband and a few close friends.

In September of this year I decided to take a trip to try something I never thought possible, I hiked the Havasu Falls Indian Reservation on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I climbed rocks, ladders, crossed planks & waded through waist deep water, and hiked over 45 miles in just 3 days. I have been given a new outlook on life and feeling better than I ever felt possible. If you tell me I can’t, I will show you I CAN. This is my new motto and will continue to live by it as long as I am able.

I have never felt better and being a patient of Dr Nickels has shown me not only how to eat healthy but to make better choices to be able to enjoy the things in life I NEVER thought possible. For years I have said NO to many things and I feel I have gotten a second chance at life and it is TIME TO START LIVING. I now have 2 beautiful grandkids to enjoy and look forward to doing things with them and keeping up with them as well. Life if short, make the most of it while you are living. If I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN TOO!! Get out and enjoy life’s greatest pleasures.
